Steps to import data into Tally ERP 9 running on a remote computer

  1. Start udi-Magic converter
  2. Click the Settings button 
  3. Specify the Tally IP-Address of the remote computer where Tally ERP 9 is running
  4. Click the Save button to save the settings
  5. Next, select option : Excel to Tally > Import data into Tally
  6. Select any Standard excel template
  7. Click the Start button

  • The Settings button is available in the 2nd screen of udi-Magic software.
  • Consult your system administrator to get the IP-Address of the remote computer on which Tally ERP 9 is running.
  • You must ensure that ODBC is enabled and the Port is displayed in Tally ERP 9 gateway screen. 
  • For udi-Magic to communicate with Tally, you must specify the same Port Number in both Tally ERP 9 and udi-Magic software.


CAUTION / WARNING

  • udi-Magic converter cannot be installed on a Remote Desktop. For more details on why udi-Magic cannot be installed and used on Remote Desktop, refer point 28 in FAQs.
  • There must be a single instance of Tally ERP 9 running on the remote computer. If there are multiple users are running multiple instances of Tally ERP 9, then only the first user will be able to import data into Tally.
